Late Bloomer: Cathedral Bells

This is the first time I’ve planted this lovely annual vine. It can grow as much as 25 feet in full sun and well drained soil. I’ve got mine in a large pot adjacent to a trellis that it climbed with no assistance. I took these photos over a period of four days as the first blossom appeared.

Mine are just starting to bloom too! I read that if you start them in February that you get earlier blooms. I’m going to try it next year and see if there’s any truth to it. I think I started mine in April, how about you?

Hi, I’m in Saskatoon and I JUST got the first bloom last week! I counted. I have 9 blooms on the plant right now. It’s a race against, the weather to see if they will make it now before a heavy frost kills it! 🙂
